Uncle Matt’s Organic Florida Avocados

Organic Florida Avocados
Avocado lovers will love Uncle Matt’s Florida organic “green skin” avocados!  A tasty and nutritious alternative to the more common Hass variety, our larger-sized avocados have less fat and fewer calories. Not to mention, they’re also a great source of dietary fiber, potassium, folate and vitamins B6 and C.

Grown by second-generation Florida avocado growers on a 20-acre farm located in Homestead, Florida, the U.S.D.A. certified-organic avocados are in season from June through January and are offered in 8 popular varieties.

Widely considered a vegetable, the avocado is actually a fruit that has a taste similar to a vegetable. And they’re not just for guacamole! Avocados are widely used in salads and main dishes, as well as breads and desserts.

A mature avocado ripens 3 to 8 days after it is picked and Florida avocados ripen best at room temperatures between 60 and 70 degrees F. To speed ripening, place avocados in a brown paper bag or a use a fruit-ripening bowl.
